800fund.com shares 4 Primary Tips for a Successful Cleaning Business.

Stand out from all of your competitors…

Customers want someone they can rely on to get the job done; clean it like it’s your own. Regardless of what you’re cleaning and whether you’re doing traditional housecleaning, commercial or providing a specialty cleaning service, clean like you’re cleaning your own home or office. They will undoubtedly be pleased with your hard work and dedication. It’s also a great way to build up a book of business when they start raving about how well you did to family members, friends and quite possibly their co-workers. Referrals are key to growing your business.

Determine How Much to Charge

The biggest single expense you have is labor, and you must stay on top of it. If you aren’t watching your labor costs every day, they’ll get away from you. Compile a daily over and under report, which makes it easy to spot trends before they become major issue. When you’re starting out, you may be tempted to try to undercut the competition’s prices. A better strategy is to simply outperform them by providing quality work.

Deciding the price of your services goes and-in-hand with creating a budget. “Do not sell yourself short by undercharging. Once you figure out what your costs are, you know how much money you need to bring in. You have to balance the number of clients you need with how much you charge in order to make your budget work. Also research other local cleaning companies to see what they’re charging.

Advertising

The key to a successful business is customers, and lots of them. You need to make sure people know about your services. Let everyone you can think of know you started a cleaning company, from friends to the cashier at the grocery store. Build a basic website to provide prospective clients with information (free websites are available to get you started).

Build Relationships with your Clients

Once you have your business up and running, you may have more clients than you can handle. How do you ensure each receives top-notch service to help your company grow? Build genuine relationships. Some customers may or may not be able to be present during the cleaning process so by building this rapport with them will enable customers to see you as trustworthy and honest. It’s also important to be different and memorable.

This is quite helpful. Focusing on better quality over underpricing was exactly my worst mistake as I just started my cleaning co., unless you have a decent cushion securing your initial losses.
